The Ox knows how to save. It rarely overestimates its chances, does not spend for show, keeps a reserve for a rainy day. But this quality has a shadow side: money and things can lie "just in case" for years while decisions about them are put off. An old deposit, a property nobody can decide about, a debt that "will sort itself out later."

It is exactly such reserves that the Ox meets in 2027. The year is called 丁未, and the Goat 未 stands opposite the Ox 丑: between them is a 沖 (chōng), a clash. Both signs are 庫 (kù), storehouses, so in 2027 two storerooms full of contents strike against each other. If the chart also has a Dog 戌, the 三刑 丑戌未 forms.

This is not a forecast of "you will lose" or "you will earn" but a description of the general background. Money in BaZi is read from the whole chart: the Day Master, the elements, the luck pillar. The sign as a whole is in the Ox in 2027, and the money overview for all signs is in the forecast "Money in 2027".

丑 庫
Chou · the Ox and its storehouse in the year of the Goat
chǒu kù · 庫, "storehouse"; 丑未沖, the clash of two storehouses

1 What lies in these storehouses

The hidden stems of the Ox 丑 are 己 (Yin Earth, the main one), 癸 (Yin Water) and 辛 (Yin Metal). The Goat 未 carries 己 (Yin Earth, the main one), 丁 (Yin Fire) and 乙 (Yin Wood). Note that 己 is present in both branches. Earth is the common denominator: it unites the two storerooms and makes the clash a "domestic" one, happening inside a single space.

The translation into the language of money is conventional and figurative, but it works. Metal 辛 is accumulated capital, bullion, hard assets. Water 癸 is flow, turnover, cash. Earth 己 is property, land, belongings. Wood 乙 (from the Goat) is growth, investment in the future, plans. Fire 丁 is liquidity, what can be realised quickly, "hot" income. When the branches collide, all these layers start to move: some things come to the surface, some require a decision.

How storehouses work is described in more detail in the article 墓庫 Storehouses of destiny.

And one more thing to remember from the very beginning. Money in a chart is not a separate figure but a balance of forces. If your Day Master is sturdy, in a 沖 year you can hold and redistribute your "wealth" to advantage. If the Day Master is weak, the same movement of the storehouses can turn into a leak: there is not enough strength to "carry" the money to a result. So the same 丑未沖 for two Oxen is, for one, a reason to put things in order and come out ahead, and for the other a year when the main thing is not to lose. The difference is visible only from the full chart.

2 Four zones of review: what exactly "opens up"

Savings. Money on deposits, in "safe" assets, on savings accounts. The question of the year: are they working or just lying there, and do the terms suit you.

Property and large belongings. An apartment, a plot of land, a car, a garage. Decisions put off for years reach the agenda: sell, redevelop, rent out, re-register.

Debts and obligations. Loans, borrowings, unformalised promises. In a 沖 year they reveal themselves: letters arrive, rates change, old agreements resurface.

Family money. Inheritance, help for elders and children, shares in joint property. This is the most sensitive: talk about money in a family often turns out to be talk about fairness.

These four zones share one feature: they are all about the postponed. The Ox seldom loses money on an impulsive purchase; it loses on what it has for years been going to "decide later": an unclosed debt, unregistered property, a deposit on old terms, a promise to a relative that was not written down. A 沖 year turns exactly this "later" into "now." The more honestly you tell yourself which of these is hanging over you, the fewer surprises July will bring.

A moment of recognition. You suddenly realise you have not looked at your papers for a long time: a contract, an insurance policy, a loan schedule, a tax notice. Your hand reaches for the drawer where everything is kept. This is no accident but a typical gesture of the year of opening storehouses.

3 Which pillars suffer more

Where 丑 sits in the chartMoney zoneWhat to check in 2027
YearFamily capital, lineageInheritance questions, shares, help for elders; make no decisions without talking to the family
MonthWork, income, positionPayment terms, bonus schedule, possible changes in the company
DayPersonal money, the couple's shared budgetWho pays for what, joint loans, joint purchases
HourSavings for the future, childrenRetirement savings, children's education, long-term investments

If the Ox is repeated in the chart, the clash is felt more strongly. If there are friendly branches nearby (子, 巳, 酉), it is softened. That is exactly why two Oxen with the same year sign may have very different money stories in 2027.

There are also softening factors. The branch 子 next to 丑 gives the combination 子丑合 and "holds back" the storehouse, while the branches 巳 and 酉 form the Metal Three Harmony 巳酉丑 and give support to capital. Conversely, a second 未 or 戌 in the chart strengthens the opening. So when you look at your chart, first find what stands next to the Ox: the neighbours decide whether the year passes as a calm review or as a forced sale.

4 The months of 2027: a calendar of financial decisions

PeriodPillarLink with 丑For money
Feb 4 – Mar 5壬寅NoneStart of the year: draw up a financial plan, update the expense sheet
Mar 6 – Apr 4癸卯NoneNeutral; convenient for studying offers and gathering information
Apr 5 – May 5甲辰丑辰破Small leaks in contracts; read the terms carefully
May 6 – Jun 5乙巳巳丑, part of the Metal unionSupport for the Ox: favourable for deals and for putting things in order
Jun 6 – Jul 6丙午丑午害Quiet losses from things left unsaid; careful with promises
Jul 7 – Aug 7丁未丑未沖, the main monthPeak of the "opening"; do not start big deals unless you must
Aug 8 – Sep 7戊申NoneReassessment after July; a suitable moment to close what has been opened
Sep 8 – Oct 7己酉酉丑, part of the Metal unionOne of the best months of the year for putting finances in order
Oct 8 – Nov 6庚戌丑戌未三刑Paperwork and formal matters: taxes, courts, disputes over terms; double-check everything
Nov 7 – Dec 6辛亥No direct linkA Water month with many ideas; careful with "hot" offers
Dec 7 – Jan 5壬子子丑合An allied month, suits agreements and restarting plans
Jan 6 – Feb 3, 2028癸丑Doubling of 丑Results: a consolidated balance, preparing for the new year

Each of the months 乙巳 and 己酉 forms with your 丑 a part of the Metal Three Harmony 巳酉丑. This is soft support, not a full union, but for deals and ordering it is noticeable. The months 丁未 and 庚戌 are the most delicate for all financial decisions. How months are read in general is explained in the article on the monthly forecast, 流月.

5 The Day Master: for whom 丁 and 己 work as money

In BaZi money is the "wealth stars" (財): Direct Wealth and Indirect Wealth. Which stem of the year becomes "money" is decided by your Day Master (日主, rì zhǔ).

Day Master丁 is己 isWhat it means for finances
甲傷官 Hurting Officer正財 Direct WealthMoney from talent and ideas, direct earnings through the main stem of 未
乙食神 Eating God偏財 Indirect WealthMobile income from craft, services, creative work
丙劫財 Rob Wealth傷官 Hurting OfficerCompetitors and "splitting the pie"; watch the shared wallet
丁比肩 Friend食神 Eating GodIndependent work brings income; joint investments are awkward
戊正印 Direct Resource劫財 Rob WealthSupport is there, but spending on your surroundings is above usual
己偏印 Indirect Resource比肩 FriendReliance on yourself and reserve; it helps to get a second opinion
庚正官 Direct Officer正印 Direct ResourcePosition and support; money comes through the job
辛七殺 Seven Killings偏印 Indirect ResourcePressure and atypical decisions; financial ideas need checking
壬正財 Direct Wealth正官 Direct OfficerDirect earnings and obligations side by side; 丁 combines with 壬
癸偏財 Indirect Wealth七殺 Seven KillingsMobile money but also risk; investing needs a cool head

For 甲 and 乙, "money" becomes the hidden stem 己: the opportunity is concealed and is revealed precisely after the 沖. For 壬 and 癸, "money" lies on the surface: it is the open stem 丁. But an opportunity is not yet a result: without discipline it remains an opportunity. Details of each god are in the articles on Direct Wealth 正財 and Indirect Wealth 偏財.

The split by Day Master matters not for the sake of a label. If the year brings you Direct or Indirect Wealth (as for 壬 and 癸), money is literally in focus: deals, income and expenses come to the front, and the year demands financial discipline. If the year arrives as the Officer and Killings gods (庚 receives Direct Officer through the stem 丁, 辛 Seven Killings), money comes through position and obligations rather than directly. And for 甲 and 乙 the wealth is hidden in the earthy 己 and is revealed only after the 沖 opens the storehouse: the opportunity exists, but it is deferred.

Which storehouses the year opens in your own chart

The Standard reading shows your chart and the role of the Ten Gods in your money zone. It answers the question "where does what lie for me and where is the year looking," without promises of "you will earn this much." 6 A seven-day inventory: a practical plan

Since the year will set the storehouses in motion anyway, it is better to carry out the review yourself and in a calm month. We suggest this format. It takes a week of evenings and needs no special knowledge.

  1. Day 1. Obligations. List all loans, borrowings, subscriptions, regular payments, guarantees. Mark the terms and rates beside them.
  2. Day 2. Savings. Where each sum lies, on what terms, in what currency, how accessible it is.
  3. Day 3. Property. Real estate, vehicles, equipment: what brings income, what requires spending, what stands idle.
  4. Day 4. Documents. Contracts, insurance, licences, powers of attorney. Check the expiry dates and renew what needs it.
  5. Day 5. Shared money. If there is a partner, a business, relatives in a joint venture: who put in what and who gets what. In writing.
  6. Day 6. Plans. What you want to buy, sell or invest in over the next two years. For each item mark the month that looks favourable.
  7. Day 7. Reserve. Estimate your safety cushion: how many months of expenses it covers if income shrinks for a while.

It is best to carry out such a review in February–March, before the sharp months, or in May, when the month 乙巳 supports. The analysis itself requires no belief in BaZi: an inventory is always useful.

One more principle that works precisely in a year of opening storehouses: do not confuse activity with result. In such a year the Ox tends to rush to re-register, sell and move everything at once. But a 沖 does not demand immediate action; it demands attention. Sometimes the right answer to "the storehouse has opened" is simply to look at what is inside, record it and leave it as it is until a calm month. Money that is lying wrongly will not go anywhere in one calm month, while a decision made on emotion later has to be replayed at a loss. A sensible order is this: first the review and the facts, then the decision, and only then the deal, not in the sharpest month but in May, September or December.

7 Three types of Ox and their money scenarios

The saver. Conservative investments, a high share of savings. The risk of the year: missing the moment when what has been saved needs redistributing. The solution: revise the structure unhurriedly, in September.

The owner. Property, business and belongings are at the centre. The risk of the year: decisions made in July against a background of emotion. The solution: take time and consult a lawyer or accountant about the papers.

The worker with income from labour. Salary, fees, regular clients. The risk of the year: changes in the company, a review of terms. The solution: keep a reserve and watch the formalities, especially in October–November.

None of the types guarantees either growth or loss. BaZi describes tendencies and timing, not results.

Let me illustrate with an example. An Ox with the Day Master 壬 and 丑 in the hour pillar: for this person 丁 is Direct Wealth, the money is "on the surface," but it stands in the zone of savings and children. In 2027 such a person often faces a decision about the long term: a pension plan, a child's education, a deposit nobody remembered. The 沖 opens precisely this zone, and the year is good for reassembling it rather than starting a new risky bet. For an Ox with the same Day Master but 丑 in the year pillar, the same "wealth" will unfold in the theme of relatives and inheritance.

8 Family money: how not to turn a review into a quarrel

The most delicate part of the year is money that belongs not only to you. In the traditional reading, 丑未沖 often touches the theme of the family line: inheritance, help for parents, joint property, shares in a family business. These questions are uncomfortable precisely because numbers and feelings are mixed in them.

What works in practice. Separate the conversation about figures from the conversation about the relationship: first the table, then the feelings, not the other way round. Choose calm months for the talk, May or September, not July. Record decisions in writing, even when it concerns close people: paper protects a relationship better than memory. And let the other side ask questions: in a 沖 year it is often on clarifications that the things avoided in silence for years come out.

If a Dog 戌 is involved in the conversation (a person born in a Dog year, or the branch 戌 in the chart), add one more step: agree in advance that "who owes whom" will be discussed without a tally of grievances. The trio 丑戌未 is just about this story.

And a small but important point: in family money the year rewards the one who speaks first and calmly. If you have long felt that the question of an inheritance, a shared apartment or help for parents has ripened, 2027 is a reason to raise it yourself, in May or September, rather than wait until it explodes in July over a chance occasion. Initiative here is not aggression but a way to go through the conversation on your own terms.

9 The mistakes that repeat most often

Postponing the review "until after." The storehouse opens regardless of your wish. It is better to do it yourself.

Making big decisions in July. The month 丁未 is the peak of 丑未沖. Decisions made at the sharpest point are more often a reaction to an event than a plan.

Ignoring small contractual details in April. 丑辰破 is about trifles: a missed clause, an imprecise wording, a date.

Underestimating papers in October. The 三刑 is tied to formalities, disputes and obligations. Everything signed in that period is worth reading twice.

Panic after the first signal. One failed payment or a delayed transfer is not yet a sign. A calm check of the facts costs less than a reaction.

Confusing movement with loss. In a 沖 year money often simply changes form: a deposit is re-registered, property is sold and put into something else, a debt is closed with a new schedule. That is not a loss; that is the "opening of the storehouse." Loss appears where nobody follows the movement.

A clash of storehouses does not carry money away. It makes you finally look at what lies in them.

In short: in 2027 it helps the Ox to treat finances as an inventory. Check, revise, formalise, close the unfinished. The year is favourable for putting things in order and awkward for risky bets. How exactly this lays over your eight characters is visible only from the full chart.

10 Frequently asked questions

Will the Ox lose money in 2027 because of 丑未沖?

A branch link does not predict losses. A 沖 sets the contents of the storehouses in motion, meaning savings, property and obligations come onto the agenda. The result depends on your chart and your decisions.

What does the 三刑 丑戌未 mean for money?

If the Ox's chart has a Dog 戌 and the year brings the Goat 未, the trio 丑戌未 forms. Tradition ties it to formalities, disputes over terms and a feeling of "owed / not valued." Without a Dog in the chart, the trio forms only in the month 庚戌 (October 8 – November 6).

Which months of 2027 are better for the Ox's deals?

The supportive ones are 乙巳 (May 6 – June 5), 己酉 (September 8 – October 7) and 壬子 (December 7 – January 5). The delicate ones are 丙午, 丁未 (June–July) and 庚戌 (October).

Should the Ox sell property in 2027?

The year sign gives no such answer. A property storehouse comes onto the agenda in a 沖 year, but the decision depends on your chart, your luck pillar, prices and personal goals. Large deals are worth discussing with professionals and not making in July.

Is the year sign enough to judge my money in 2027?

No. The year sign is one of the eight parts of a chart. Money is read through the Day Master and the elements. You can calculate your chart from date, time and place of birth for free on the free chart page.
