The classical formula 傷官生財 (shāng guān shēng cái) says "talent produces wealth": skills, speech and inventiveness turn into income. Then comes 財生官: income produces status and responsibility. The result is a fairly direct path: you can do something, you are paid for it, and the money settles into a position.
