More superstition has piled up around 本命年 (běn mìng nián, your own year) than around almost any other BaZi topic: red underwear, bans on weddings, advice not to start a relationship. For the Goat (未), 2027 is exactly such a year, because the branch of 丁未 matches the birth branch. Let us sort out what here is mechanics, what is folklore, and how all of it lands on the sphere of feeling.

After a breakup. If a relationship ended recently, 伏吟 may bring back feelings that seemed lived through. That is not a reason to resume anything, but a reason to live them through to the end.
A long-distance relationship. In your own year Canopy strengthens the pull toward your own space, and distance often feels more comfortable than before: it is easier to live in separate rhythms and not dissolve into each other. The risk here is different: imperceptibly growing apart and mistaking silence for cooling. That is a folk belief about 本命年, not a rule of BaZi. In the classics the matter is settled by the structure of both partners' charts and by the choice of date. Your own year makes events denser, but it does not forbid them.
