Those whose charts are harmed by Fire (for example, a chart with weak Metal and no support from Earth) should compensate through their choice of day — more on that below.
2 The main rule of the year: remove Ox days
The first filter when choosing a date in any year is removing days that clash with the year's branch. For 2027, those are Ox days 丑 (chǒu): the pair 丑未 (chǒu-wèi) forms a clash 沖 (chōng — "clash"), and a day that strikes the year is called 歲破 (suì pò — "the year's destroyer"). A wedding on such a day is a classic mistake: the day's energy literally "breaks" the energy of the year under which the whole marriage lives.
Ox days come around every 12 days, meaning there are about thirty of them in 2027 — and all of them are crossed off the wedding calendar right away, no matter how convenient they look on the venue's schedule.
3 Strong seasonal windows in 2027
Not all months within the year are equal. The logic is simple: the month shouldn't conflict with the year, and its element should support the task of "building a union." The preliminary picture for 2027 looks like this:

Why "better to skip" July: from ≈July 7 to August 7 runs the Goat's own month 未, and doubling up the year's branch (Year of the Goat + Month of the Goat) creates 伏吟 (fú yín — "a repeated branch," a stagnation pattern) for a number of charts. Not fatal, but all else being equal, strong dates in July lose out to neighboring months. For the same reason the Dog month 戌 (≈October 8 – November 7) is left out of the "Early winter" window above: against the year's 未 it forms the punishment 戌未 (part of the wider 丑戌未 group).
4 What a "strong day" for a wedding looks like
After filtering out the anti-dates, the search turns to a "builder" day. In the tradition of date selection 擇日 (zé rì — "choosing the day"), a day's character is read through the cycle 建除 (jiàn chú — "the 12 day officers"): for marriage, the classic choices are the "day of completion" 成日 (chéng rì) and the "day of stability" 定日 (dìng rì) — days whose nature is "to fix and carry through to the end." Destruction days 破日 (pò rì) and "closing" days 閉日 (bì rì) are avoided.
The day is then checked against the couple's charts: its stem and branch shouldn't strike either spouse's Day Master (日主, rì zhǔ — "master of the day"), and ideally should bring both of them their Useful God 用神 (yòng shén — "Useful God"). This step is exactly what turns "a decent day on the calendar" into "your day."
5 Common mistakes when choosing a 2027 date
Mistake 1 — choosing a "pretty" date. 07/07/2027 or 07/27/2027 look striking on an invitation, but both run up against the Goat month. 07/27/2027 is a 丁未 day in the 丁未 month of the 丁未 year — that's 伏吟 (fú yín, a repeated branch), tripled: 未 sits in the year, the month and the day. 07/07/2027 is the day the month itself changes: the solar term 小暑 arrives around 07:36 UTC, so a morning ceremony still falls in the Horse month, while an afternoon one is already in the Goat month. A number's beauty cancels out neither the 伏吟 nor the clashes.
Mistake 2 — counting the year from January 1 or from the Chinese New Year. The year 丁未 begins neither on January 1 nor at the lunar New Year (February 6, 2027), but at the solar term 立春: February 4, 2027, around 01:45 UTC. January and the first days of February 2027 are still the Year of the Horse 丙午 — treating them as "the Year of the Goat" is a mistake at the foundation level.
Mistake 3 — choosing a day for only one chart. A day that's ideal for the bride and strikes the groom's chart works against the union. A wedding date is always a compromise between two charts, and sometimes the best shared day isn't the best for either person individually — but it's safe for both.
6 A step-by-step plan
1. Determine your window (season and months) that fits your life — venue, guests, vacation time.
2. Remove Ox days 丑, destruction days 破日, and month clashes from that window.
3. Check the remaining days against both charts: strikes against the Day Master and marriage-related branches go in the trash.
4. From the "safe" days, choose the ones bringing favorable elements to both of you.
5. The final touch — the ceremony hour: even a strong day can be strengthened with the right two-hour window.
