In ancient China, power had a very concrete, material symbol — the imperial seal (玉璽, Yu Xi). This seal, usually carved from jade, was stamped on state documents, giving them the force of law. Officials of lesser rank had their own seals — a symbol of their authority. The seal = legitimate power. Without a seal, you are nobody; with a seal, you are a bearer of the state's will.

The BaZi system contains a star bearing the name of this key symbol of power — Guo Yin 國印 (literally "the Seal of the State"). 1 What Guo Yin is — its essence and history

Guo Yin belongs to the category of "noble stars" (貴人), but has a specific function — it "attaches" its bearer to structures of power. The classical treatise San Ming Tong Hui states: "Guo Yin is the star of those born for official office. They become ministers, judges, commanders. Without a seal, no one governs — but the seal comes into their hands on its own."

Etymologically, the word "yin" (印) in modern Chinese means not only "seal" but also "mark," "stamp," "imprint." This is deeply symbolic: the bearer of Guo Yin leaves a mark on the history of a state, an organization, a society. Their signature becomes significant. Their decisions carry weight.

2 How to calculate Guo Yin — a table from the Day Master

Guo Yin is calculated from the Day Master — the Heavenly Stem of the day of birth. Each Day Master corresponds to one specific Earthly Branch.

The logic of the calculation: Guo Yin is the branch in which the Day Master's "root" meets the element of "Seal" (Yin, 印星) or "Office" (Guan, 官星). This creates the "national" energy that makes its bearer capable of an official career.

Step 1. Determine the presence and strength of Guo Yin

Using the table in section 2, find the Guo Yin branch for your Day Master. Check all the pillars of your chart. Pay special attention to the Month Pillar.

Step 2. Accept your path
